Hello & Welcome to The Confident Homeschooler! I'm Serena and I am a wife and mother to two boys and a doodle, living in Nashville, TN! I love ice cream, traveling, experiencing new adventures with the family, and Christmas is my favorite.
My own homeschooling journey inspired me to start "The Confident Homeschooler" brand in 2017 and it was centered around mindset and encouragement for other parents. I didn't want anyone to not pursue homeschooling because of insecurity, fear, and doubt and I am even more passionate about this today.
Homeschooling was not something I ever thought I would do before having my own kids. I was a Registered Nurse that never planned on homeschooling, but as we pursued it as a family when the time came, it quickly turned into a passion of mine! I went through a few years of feeling 'not good enough' and worrying SO much what family and friends would think. I was so scared to tell anyone about our choice to homeschool. I was fearful I would 'mess up' my children's educations and that I wouldn't be able to provide the same education they could get in school.
Throughout the years I have met others that have positively influenced me and have put practices in place to strengthen our homeschool and skyrocket my confidence! I want to inspire and encourage others through what I've learned because homeschooling has been the biggest blessing to our family. I'm so glad you have landed here & look forward to getting to know you!

Hey friends! I'm Rebecca, a wife and mom of 3 in Nashville, TN! I love to read, drink hot chocolate year-round, and could live off of thin crust pepperoni pizza. I'm excited you're here!
Our journey into homeschooling was quite unexpected. My husband and I were both raised in public school and had full intentions on our kids following the same path. But when we moved from Dallas to Nashville a few years ago, all of that changed! We both became self-employed and had a choice in schooling for the first time. We hesitantly leaned into homeschooling when our oldest started Pre-K, and never looked back!
Homeschooling turned out to be the biggest blessing I never knew I needed. I'm pretty sure I even said at one point that I'd NEVER homeschool...yet here I am! And we're truly enjoying every minute of it! Our family thrives in the freedom that homeschooling has given us, and we couldn't imagine a life any other way!
